Hello Friends! I currently live in Mexico, and my company is looking to relocate me to Shanghai in the near future. I own 2 HONDAS I would love to bring with me: One of them is a 2003 XRV750 Africa Twin, with which I have toured extensively, and the other is a restored 1979 CBX. I have seen a few posts on other forums saying what an ordeal it is to own, get a license and travel on the bike within China. Moreover, of these very few resources, I still have not found anything making reference to any law. Therefore, I would like to know if you could please give me some pointers, or maybe direct me to an agency or company that could advise me on the proceedings. Here in Mexico, for leisure me and my wife only travel on motorcycle, and it was my intention to do the same in China as well. Is this realistic? It seems bikeas are banned from the highways, but as long we can use back roads, it's OK. Thanks in advance for whatever help you are able to provide. ;D Best regards, Luigi Rota

Sincere apologies for shattering your dream buddy but the shipping and import tax of the vehicle will be more than what you can afford - unless of course your company covers all your expatriation cost! Here goes one of many other options you have "around Shanghai" (http://auction1.taobao.com/auction/item_detail-0db1-c58f0fd326c3fc994949ef1a6ef5725f.jhtml).

Luigi, China don't allow the import of 2nd hand bikes or cars, so it will be near to impossiblke tobring something here, You're better 0ff looking for a new or slightly used 2nd bike in China once you're here, but don't expect they're fully legal though !!! let us know once you're here in China.
