While it is true I am an instructor with BG I just wanted to say thakss to them for thier support. I rented one of the school bikes for the race since my race bike still has no engine in it. BG gave us local riders support and even changed rain tires to street tires when the weather changed for our competitors in the spirit of good sportsmanship. KUDOS to Johnathan for kicking butt and grabbing the 1st place spot in the Superbike class on a BG Rental bike. Mr Wang from the Suzhou Motorcycle club for grabbing fifth in this his first road race ever. Again on BG rental bike in the Superbike class. Jesse from Quinshan (SIC?) grabbed a 5th place in his frist road race ever in the 150cc one make Honda race. (Sorry no picture) Maybe if he would stop waving at the crowd everythime he went by the grand stands he would go a bit faster haha. But he had fun and thats what its all about. As for me I qualified 10th on the start grid but a mistake in the grid positions had them put me on the grid in the 23rd spot out of 25 bike - in the back row. I protested in vain and decided to just go for it, have fun and work on lowering my lap times. I worked my way up to 6th place before the checker flag fell and lowered my time by a second and a half. I had a great time and can't wait to get back on the track next race. Hope to see you out there

Butch, Ok will do. I was talking with Steve frm BG on Sunday and he told me that the red devils were now on line with this forum so I will be more active here and get more info out to you guys.
FYI - I think Jeff Marquass will be here in Shanghai in the end of October / begining of November so maybe we can do a ride weekend that ends up at the track to watch the race. I believe its the first weekend in November.
If any members want to come out and practice on the 150cc or 600cc bikes drop me or Kareem a line. The 150cc race is pretty tame due to the lack of high speed and its a good way to get out ther and have a fun time.
Hey, you got a monkey bike right? They have a class for those as well. Come oooooon... you know you want to. :-)

I shut down the old Yahoo shanghaimotorcycle group as it was to difficult to maintain and Yahoo groups was going through some changes. post up any events and quite sure some of us will come, we didn't know about last weekend. your saying there is another race weekend coming up in November? yeah, still got my Monkey bikes but too much $$$$ and one-of custom parts to smashed them up at the track. might build a race only Monkey bike from the left over parts....

Butch the key to keeping the bike parts from getting broken is to NOT crash ha ha ha.
Not always that easy. I saw one guy there with a bike I would imagine cost both arms and legs. Had a custom billeted frame and just a whole bunch of custom one offs.
Next race is first weekend of November I beleive. Will find out and update you.

The last round of the Tianma Racing Festival is the weekend (Sat/Sun) of November 8th and 9th.
We will have some 600cc bikes and 150cc bikes available for rental if anyone is interested!!! (if really interested, please let us know as soon as possible, since our bikes are limited and will be booked up pretty early)
I think they have also kept the 7th open for free practice.
If anyone is interested in getting into the CBF150 Challenge, you have the option of buying a bike, then you can use it anytime you want to practice. They are really inexpensive, Brand New complete race ready CBF150 for Group B is under 20,000rmb!! If you want to play around with the engine more, you can go Group A, then the sky is the limit... hahahaha Would be nice to get some Westerners to start tweaking on the engines and see how much power they can actually make!!

Butch, It was a real hectic week as we'd to run a Honda CBF150 training school earlier last week at Xi'an and rush to SH to do the race.. so didn't get to call anyone as the action just keep coming : ( We'd been getting alot of enquiries on the trainign and practice, and we'd diverted them over to the forum, so I think we will have a much busier forum . I'll also ask our guy to make the Forum a bit simpler as its a bit messy now...
Otherwsie, hope all is well with you
